The daily activity of our Clubhouse is organized around a structured system known as the work-ordered day. The work-ordered day parallels typical business hours of the local working community. Members and staff work side by side, as colleagues to perform the work that is essential to the functioning of the Clubhouse. All work is voluntary and participation is according to individual interests.

Capitol Clubhouse has three work units: Career Development, Membership Services and Food Services. The work units are the heart and soul of the daily activities at Capitol Clubhouse. The length of time a member spends in a work unit is based upon personal choice and interest. Members join the units to learn new job skills, regain self confidence in their ability to work, develop positive work habits, and develop job references.
